PROPS, COSTUMES AND LOCATIONS ..

With my images I have not used any props as I wanted my images to be mainly of my models, I have also not used any costumes. The clothes in which my models are wearing are their own and all I told them to do is wear something casual and what they felt natural in. the models I used where what I based my target audience on so I knew that the clothing they would wear would appeal to my audience. I have used three locations in my photos; the college studio, the woods local to my area and the graveyard also in my local area. I decided to use the studio as the location for my front cover image because I wanted to make my front cover image plain and dramatic. I want it to look like a studio photo and I looked mainly at Kerrang’s front cover images for inspiration.  I decide to use the graveyard as my second location as I felt this would introduce the feel to my magazine well, I think the location matched and with the model I used. I also needed a background for my contents page but nothing too distracting. I wanted to get the tree in shot because I wanted my contents page writing to go over something similar to one of rock sounds magazine contents pages. Finally I decided to use the woods as my final location for my feature article because I wanted an image with a broken mood connected to it. I wanted my model to look away from the camera but at the same time I needed the background of the image not to be plain.
